Former ballet dancer Judith Chazin-Bennahum, P’92, is the author of the 2022 book “Ida Rubinstein: Revolutionary Dancer, Actress, and Impresario.” Judith remembers being one of five classmates at New York’s High School of Performing Arts who were offered full scholarships to Brandeis. Two of the other students were Annette Miller, GSAS MFA’76, now an acclaimed actress, and dancer/choreographer Bruce Marks, who has directed several ballet companies. Ellen Harriman reports she is still here and still crazy after all these years. Carol Peskin is a resident of Lincoln, Massachusetts. Peter Ranis, P’91, writes he’s proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments. Jessica (23) is getting an MSW at Rutgers, and her twin, Justin, is getting an MS in sports analytics and management at American University. Max (21) is getting a BS in mathematics at Yale, and Flora (19) is at Yale as well, earning a BA in ethnicity, race, and migration. Peter has given a talk at Miami Beach’s Holocaust Memorial about his memories of leaving Germany with his mother, grandfather, and brother Gus ’52, H’82, P’89, in September 1941.
