Matthew Boxer, GSAS MA’02, received an inaugural Center for Antisemitism Research Fellowship from the Anti-Defamation League to support his project “How Do Jews Define the Boundaries Between Zionism, Anti-Zionism, and Antisemitism?” He is an assistant research professor at Brandeis’ Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies and Steinhardt Social Research Institute. Malik El-Amin, GSAS MFA’02, is artistic director of Griot Theatre, in Sausalito, California, and the author of “Blackjack,” a play based on the Isis/Osiris story from Egyptian mythology, set in the Black Jack neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, during the early 1990s. Pelin Çelik, IBS MA’03, is a banker at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye and is pursuing a PhD in business administration at Baskent University, in Ankara, Turkey. Sarah Figge Hussain, Heller MA’04, is a communications specialist at Harvard University’s Center on the Developing Child. Emanus Simeon, Rabb MSE’04, is on the board of directors of ShelterBox, a global disaster-relief organization. A Massachusetts-based software engineer, Emanus has made service to his home country of Haiti part of his life’s mission. Thomas Steele, Rabb MSE’04, is senior vice president/chief technology officer at Mechanics Cooperative Bank. Yaegel Welch, GSAS MFA’04, is performing the role of Tom Robinson in a multiyear national tour of the play “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Thomas Broussard, Heller PhD’06, P’02, founder and president of Aphasia Nation, writes and speaks about stroke, aphasia, and plasticity worldwide. Thomas was Heller’s associate dean of career services and admissions for five years until he had his first stroke in 2011. Following the stroke, he could not read, write, or speak well for several years. Nikola Perovic, IBS MBA’06, has founded a consulting company, Seeurope Consult. Sitoramo Safolova, Heller MA’06, works in the areas of agriculture development, climate change, and water and land management at Agro-Service Consulting, a national NGO in Tajikistan. Reba Wissner, GSAS MFA’08, PhD’12, is an assistant professor of musicology in the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. She was accepted to the 2022 summer symposium of the Governor’s Teaching Fellows program at the University of Georgia. Abiodun Oyeneyin, Heller MS’09, is the pioneer director-general of Nigeria’s Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, which coordinates, supervises, and regulates the administration of health insurance in the state. Sarah Rozene, GSAS MFA’09, is artistic director at the Barnstormers Theatre, in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The Barnstormers is one of the oldest summer-stock theaters in the U.S. Torsten Sewing, Heller MA’09, writes that a group of German journalists are working to build a physical newsroom in Berlin for both Russian and Ukrainian journalists.
