Steven Zemelman, GSAS PhD’70, co-authored “Teaching for Racial Equity: Becoming Interrupters,” released by Stenhouse Publishers in March. His earlier books for educators include “From Inquiry to Action” and “Subjects Matter.” Fernando M. Torres-Gil, Heller MSW’72, PhD’76, regularly meets up with Deborah Kaplan Polivy, Heller MSW’72, PhD’78. They often reminisce fondly about the Heller School, which both have included in their estate plans. Loretta Devine, GSAS MFA’76, appeared on the reality-TV competition show “RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race” in August. George Randy Ingham, GSAS MA’78, PhD’12, is the author of the 2021 book “Saving Our Democracy: Essays on Freedom and Its Enemies.”
