David Bernstein is the author of “Classified: The Untold Story of Racial Classification in America,” published by Bombardier Books in July. David is a University Professor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. Grayson Dantzic reports that a Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, “Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill: Photographs by Jerry Dantzic,” will be on view at Louisiana’s West Baton Rouge Museum until Jan. 7. The show, which kicked off its national tour in 2019, presents photos of Billie Holiday shot in 1957 by Grayson’s late father, Jerry, providing a rare look at the singer’s public and private life. Stephanie Freeman is a trusts and estates attorney living in Colorado with her twin daughters, a Tsang apso named Pepper, and an African grey named Smokey. Sara (Grossman) Sanders, P’22, was a proud mom when son Jonah ’22 graduated from Brandeis in May with a degree in computer science and business. Sara and husband Jay, P’22, have been active in Brandeis’ Parents Leadership Council. Attorney Jeffrey Shapiro is the Massachusetts inspector general, charged with preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse of public funds and property, and promoting transparency and efficiency in government. Formerly, he was the Commonwealth’s first deputy comptroller. Jaclyn (Kugell) Yezerski, a partner at law firm Morgan, Brown & Joy, was recognized by 2023 Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year in the area of labor law-management in Boston.
