Sandra Berliner has been formally recognized as the new rabbi for the Congregations of Shaare Shamayim, in northeast Philadelphia, after stepping in to lead the congregation when the previous rabbi retired in fall 2021. In June, Ken Brickman retired for the second time, after serving 11 years as the part-time rabbi at the Sandhills Jewish Congregation at Beth Shalom, in Jackson Springs, North Carolina. Previously, he was the rabbi of Temple Beth-El in Jersey City, New Jersey, for 22 years. Husband Michael Pizzi is the doctoral capstone coordinator at New York Institute of Technology’s Department of Occupational Therapy. Roy Stracqualursi retired from his dental practice in 2018. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his wife took a road trip across Canada and the northern U.S.; spent a winter on Hilton Head, South Carolina; and took a road trip to Texas. They hope to resume traveling soon. Jill Zaklow is celebrating the arrival of granddaughter Mila Morse Leepson, born in October 2021 in New Hampshire.
