Foundational Literacies
As part of the Brandeis Core, Classical and Early Mediterranean Studies majors are required to complete their Foundation Literacies. In the Department of Classical and Early Mediterranean Studies, students may satisfy both the Oral Communication and Digital Literacy requirement through an additional practicum. The practicum is a 2-credit course in either applied oral communication or digital literacy that is taken in conjunction with a 4-credit course and with the instructor’s approval. The object of these practica is to provide students with discipline appropriate training in the Foundational Literacy. Both the Quantitative Reasoning and Writing Intensive Foundation Literacies can be satisfied through other, appropriate courses.
