Jessica Tanny
Senior Graphic Designer
Since joining the integrated design team in 2013, JT has worked on a wide range of print and digital projects, including collaborations with admissions, the Heller School and the Bernstein Festival of the Creative Arts. She approaches each project with a fresh perspective, taking the words of graphic designer Emily Oberman to heart: “[A]ll design has a level of wit, even if you’re designing for something incredibly serious. It’s not like everything has to be funny, but it has to have some sort of spark. [...] You get more of an emotional connection with your audience if they see a little bit of humanity in the work that you do.” [reference link]
Before becoming a graphic designer, JT worked as a processing archivist at Harvard University’s Schlesinger Library and the University at Buffalo. She has a master’s degree in library science and archival studies from Simmons College, and a certificate in graphic design from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
