Box

Box is one of the cloud-based storage solutions offered at Brandeis (the other cloud-based storage solution is Google Drive ). Faculty, staff and students have access to their own Box accounts through their Brandeis username and password. Box is strongly recommended for storing and sharing private, confidential, or personally identifiable information (including FERPA data).
With Box, you can create files using Microsoft Office applications or Google applications. You can also upload files from your computer or mobile device into Box for storage. Use Box Drive and Box Tools to create, edit, and save files offline in Box folders.
Box Drive and Box Tools
Box Drive allows you to work offline on files saved in your Box account. Box Tools allows you to edit any file type directly from your web browser. You can download Box Drive and Box tools directly from the Box website.
Sharing Content in Box
Any file or folder you upload to or create in Box is owned by you. You can assign various permissions for people to access and edit the files you share with them.
Ownership of shared files and folders is assigned by the person who created the files and folders. If you are separating from Brandeis, you can follow these instructions to assign the ownership of your files and folders to another individual. If you have access to a shared folder and have the appropriate security permissions, you can download files from shared folders.
If the owner of the files and folders has left Brandeis, open a ticket with the Information Technology Security Office to present a case to have the files and folders transferred to you in accordance with the Digital Content Policy.
