Lisa Jean (Shapiro) Kubiske, who was the U.S. ambassador to Honduras from 2011-14, has been elected to the board of directors of the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia for a three-year term. Jay Pepose, MA’75, and Susan Feigenbaum ’74, P’08, P’17, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 27. The fourth book by Lauren Rikleen, “The Shield of Silence: How Power Perpetuates a Culture of Harassment and Bullying in the Workplace,” was published by the American Bar Association this spring. Jonathan D. Sarna, MA’75, has been appointed director of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis. The second edition of his book “American Judaism: A History” was published by Yale University Press in June. Rabbi Simkha Weintraub was honored by T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights with both a Founders’ Award and the Jewish Theological Seminary’s Pastoral Care Leadership Award. Michael Zinder is special counsel at Hunton Andrews Kurth in the law firm’s New York City office. He has more than two decades of experience in a range of practices, including banking and finance, capital markets, and restructuring and workouts.
