In February, Steven Soifer, Heller PhD’88, was named chair of the Department of Social Work at the University of Mississippi’s School of Applied Sciences. Previously, he was chair of the social work department at the University of Memphis’ School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Richard Godbeer, PhD’89, is the director of the Hall Center for the Humanities and a history professor at the University of Kansas. Previously, he was founding director of the Humanities Research Center and history professor at Virginia Commonwealth University.
