Author/journalist Mitch Albom will be inducted into the Jewish Sports Heritage Association next year. Richard Blau was inducted into the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators Hall of Fame, the organization’s highest honor. He is shareholder and chair of law/lobbying firm GrayRobinson’s alcohol beverage and food department. Nancy R. Gottlieb and Matthew Watsky welcomed the birth of granddaughter Amelia Rose on Oct. 28. Amelia is the daughter of Sarah and Bill Dungey, and joins big brother Athan. After 38 years apart, Jerry Krivitzky reconnected with Nancy S. Gottlieb ’80. Their romance quickly rekindled, and the two were married in October 2018 at the River Cafe in Brooklyn, New York. In attendance were Ed David, Cary (Muschel) David and Brian Rosen ’80. Jerry and Nancy live in Chicago, and spend summers on the Jersey Shore. Miriam Laufer and husband Peretz Rodman ’75, MA’83, welcomed two new granddaughters. Shaked Rae Rodman was born in Jerusalem in November, and her cousin Nitzan Libi Rodman was born in February. Miriam and Peretz’s four granddaughters, who are all under the age of 4, live within walking distance of their very grateful grandparents. Heidi Libner Littman retired from her private pediatric practice in December 2017. Betsy Sicherman Lopata was sorry to miss the 40th Reunion. “I missed our 10th Reunion because I was expecting a baby, and now my daughter is due to have a baby of her own,” she wrote. “Maybe the 50th?” Maxine Fishbein Pilavin has retired after working as a middle-school language-arts teacher and school librarian in private and public schools for more than 20 years. She and husband Bob Pilavin ’78 live with son Moshe in Manalapan, New Jersey, where Bob has served as a pulpit rabbi for 16 years. Daughter Channah is married and lives in Rockville, Maryland, with her two children. Daughter Sara is married and lives on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
