Malca Bassan is a writer and illustrator. She has published six books, for both children and adults, and five Jewish calendars. Scott Bermack is a partner in the New York office of Ropers Majeski Cohen Bentley, where he defends corporations, insurance companies and professionals in high-profile, high-exposure civil-liability cases. Michael Bernstein, of Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., was named to a two-year term as treasurer of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). An ABI member since 1994, he regularly speaks at institute events and contributes articles to the ABI Journal. Michael is chair of Arnold & Porter’s bankruptcy and corporate restructuring practice. He has testified before the U.S. Congress as an independent expert on the status of collective bargaining agreements, retiree and pension benefits, and executive compensation in bankruptcy. Michael Stein and Estee Neuwirth ’89 reside in Orinda, California, with their children, Rachel (15) and Simon (13). Michael works as a digital strategist, helping nonprofits nationwide. Estee is a senior director for design and innovation at Kaiser Permanente. Matthew Weinberg and his wife, Pamela ’87, have been married for 26 years. They live in New York and have two children: Rebecca (23) and Benjamin (20). Matthew is a principal at Edge Wealth Management, a boutique wealth-management firm catering to high-net-worth investors, which he co-founded 10 years ago. Pamela is a sole-practitioner career coach.
