We held a mini-Reunion on the West Coast. My husband, Kenneth Wong, and I caught up with Steve Treiman and Sam Park for the first time since Steve’s wedding 20 years ago. Steve and Sam live near each other in the Pasadena area. Steve and his wife, Kellie Yoon-Treiman, both work as physicians. Sam and his wife, Linda Park, serve the nondenominational Community Church of Holliston, which Sam founded and where he is lead pastor. Both Steve and Sam are doing well and raising insightful, caring children.

Suzanne Reindorf Dropkin and Joe Dropkin ’93, P’20, are excited that son David ’20 became a Brandeis student in the fall. Carolyn Horwitz was named managing editor at Variety, where she oversees newsroom operations. She had formerly served as executive editor at Entrepreneur magazine. Spencer Jakab’s new book, “Heads I Win, Tails I Win: Why Smart Investors Fail and How to Tilt the Odds in Your Favor,” was released in July 2016. Based on his experience as a Wall Street Journal investing columnist and a stock analyst, the book highlights the shocking shortfall between what typical investors earn and what they could (and should) be making on their nest eggs. Banc of California named Ben Kessler managing director of payment solutions, a role in which he will lead all payment-related activities. He was formerly vice president of global account management at Earthport, a financial-services payments organization. Before that, he worked at MasterCard. Jared Lighter married Lisa Rose on March 20, 2016, in Boca Raton, Florida. Daniel Steinberg, associate professor of medicine at New York City’s Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, has served as residency program director in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel since 2009. He speaks nationally and publishes regularly in the areas of medical education, hospital medicine and evidence-based medicine.
