Heather Ames, MS’04, and husband Matt welcomed a baby daughter, Amelia. Heather is in the last year of her neuropathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Lauren Kanter Applebaum and her husband, Aaron, had a son, Isaac Hershel, on Nov. 29, 2015. He joins big brother Sam. Geryl (Rich) Baer, husband Louis and son Lyle welcomed a new member to the family, daughter Faryn Amira, on June 13, 2016. Josh Centor received a PhD in higher-education management from the University of Pittsburgh. His dissertation focused on strategic planning and resource allocation at elite private universities in the United States. He is the director of athletics, physical education and recreation at Carnegie Mellon. His wife, Jaye-Lacey (Pearlman), is the senior associate for executive engagement at the school. They are the proud parents of Gabriel (6) and Lucas (1). Evan Graber and his wife, Jenny, welcomed a son, Seth Leo, on June 11, 2016. Deborah Hamer ’05 and Bezalel Stern are thrilled to announce the birth of their son, Samuel Joseph. Matthew Konjoian married Alexis Perlmutter on Oct. 17, 2015, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Matthew works at American Public Power Association, a trade group of municipally owned electric utilities, and Alexis works at the U.S. Department of Education. They live in Washington, D.C. Aaron Olson received his EdD in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education in August 2016. Daniel and Veronica (Shaw) Salsberg ’05 welcomed daughter Sophia Rose on June 25, 2016. Ashley Shaw started her first year at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband, Evan Greene, moved from NYC, where Ashley had been director of digital content at Karen Shilo received her sustainability manager certification and is now working as a sustainability planner for the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sharon and Jaret Weber ’00 — and big sister Ava — were ecstatic to welcome Ella Sofia to the world on June 8, 2016.
