Wendi Adelson is completing a clerkship with Judge Adalberto Jordan on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Miami. Joel Christensen, MA’01, accepted a position at Brandeis as an associate professor in the Department of Classics after teaching Greek at the University of Texas at San Antonio for nine years. He and his wife, Shahnaaz Nistar, are excited to return to New England with their children, Aalia (6) and Iskander (4). Rachel Davis is a parent again. Sydney Rose Stockton was born on Aug. 6, 2016. She’s doing well, and older sister Lydia is adjusting nicely to being promoted to big sister. Diana Coben Einstein was appointed the first executive director of the Dallas Mayor’s Star Council. The council is composed of diverse leaders, ages 25-40, from eight areas of cultural and professional influence, who help leaders make an impact on Dallas through connecting, learning and serving. Oran Etkin was voted No. 1 Rising Star Clarinetist in DownBeat magazine’s annual critics poll; released a new album, “What’s New? Reimagining Benny Goodman”; and developed Timbalooloo, a new music-teaching method for kids ages 6 months through 7 years that is being taught in NYC music classes. Jenny Goldstein and Evan Schultz welcomed Roie Miles to their family on June 29, 2016. The new baby joins big brothers Koby and Elie. Cheryl Greenwald earned a master’s in sustainability and environmental management from the Harvard Extension School in May 2016. While working toward her degree, Cheryl held a series of internships and entry-level positions before landing in her current position as environmental sustainability analyst at a regional solid-waste company. Lyonel Jean-Pierre Jr. and Betsy Loren Plumb welcomed twin girls, Noelle Plumb and Everlee Lark. Parents and big brother Lyon are over the moon. Lyonel accepted a position at Murphy & Vander Salm, a law firm in Worcester, Massachusetts. Jen and Rob Kallinicos ’02 welcomed their third child, Keira Josephine, on Oct. 6, 2015. She joins big brother James and big sister Norah. Leanna Moran was named site director at Fallon Health’s new Summit ElderCare location in Lowell, Massachusetts. Leanna has held various leadership roles in senior-care services since joining Fallon in 2011. Becca Rausch, husband Lior Barnoon and son Eitan were thrilled to welcome new baby Micah Asher on Jan. 15, 2016. Becca serves as the e-discovery and information governance counsel at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services. She is also a member of Northeastern University’s School of Law faculty. When she isn’t spending time with her family or working, Becca is dancing — not surprising to anyone who knew her at Brandeis. She is the founding director and choreographer of Zikukim Israeli Dance Company and an Israeli dance program for children and families. Sarah Reynolds is a freelance radio producer for NPR and other public-radio shows, and teaches audio documentary at Duke. She recently moved back to the United States from London and had twins in 2015. Samantha Robbins married Ian Atkinson on Feb. 14, 2016, in Las Vegas. Jessica Pallay, Jessica D’Angio ’00, Melanie Sheftel Foster and Matt Krinsky ’00 attended the wedding, and Melissa Sachs was a bridesmaid. Sammy is director of advancement at The Meadows School, an independent school in Las Vegas. Ian is senior chemist at MM Labs. Adrian Sancho and his wife, Krystal, had a daughter, Allison Piper, on Feb. 2, 2016. She is their second child, joining big sister Avery Adeline. Amy Lurie Schulman and her husband, Seth, welcomed their second daughter, Ava Merav, on April 24, 2016. Big sister Emerson (2) was very excited to take on her new role. The family lives in Framingham, Massachusetts. Jennifer Silber married Patrick Carr on June 25, 2016, at Nashoba Valley Winery, in Bolton, Massachusetts. Alumni in attendance included Elisa Gassel Searle, Michael Berger ’02 and Jennifer Krasner Marks — friends from the Orientation 2000 core committee. Jennifer is the clinical director at Brockton’s May Center School for Brain Injury and Related Disorders, and Patrick is the associate university librarian for collections and discovery at the University of Connecticut. They live in Marlborough, Massachusetts, which is equidistant (but far) from their jobs. Adam Smoler and his wife, Libby, welcomed their second son, Liam Sidney, in April 2016. Big brother Ari was especially happy to gain a sidekick. Both kids enjoy it when Margalit (Friedman) Segal leads tot Shabbat. Jenny Steinberg gave birth to a daughter, Annabelle Lux Gallagher, on Sept. 12, 2015. The Rev. John Yu has been called and installed as the senior pastor of True Light Community Church in Aurora, Colorado.
