In the fall, Annette Miller, MFA’76, earned rave reviews for her portrayal of Martha Mitchell in a filmed version of Shakespeare & Company’s production of “Martha Mitchell Calling,” a reprisal of her 2006 award-winning stage performance. She will next be seen as Mrs. Tanken in “Don’t Look Up,” a political satire starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, on Netflix. Arline Schwartz Rotman reports her book club has moved to Zoom during the pandemic. Members meet monthly to catch up even when there’s no book to discuss. Participants, scattered across the U.S., include Jeanne (Goldberg) Bodin; Arnalee (Haberman) Cohen; Riva (Kline) Edelman; Miriam (Michaels) Goldman; Lenore Sack, P’87; Shelley (Katzman) Selig; and Elise (Isaacs) Weisbach, G’13. Judy (Brecher) Borakove and Margot (Strauss) Parke, who were in the group at its inception, continue to be remembered and missed. After the group read “Learning on the Left,” by Professor Emeritus Stephen J. Whitfield, PhD’72, they concluded that the similarity of their interests and values as adults can be attributed to the unique experience they had as Brandeis undergraduates. “We are truly grateful for our friendship over the 62 years since graduation,” Arline writes.
