Susan Ablon Cole, MA’71, PhD’72, the president of Montclair State University, was appointed to the 2021 board of directors of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities. Paul Fennelly, MA’71, PhD’72, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Environmental Business Journal, a publication of Environmental Business International, for his decades of work in environmental science and engineering. The Rev. Dr. Jack D. Cook, MA’73, of Kensington, Connecticut, retired in July from a 50-year career in higher education and the pastoral ministry. Raymond Arsenault, MA’74, PhD’81, has retired from teaching at the University of South Florida, where he was the John Hope Franklin Professor of Southern History, and the Florida Studies Program co-founder and senior scholar. He began teaching at USF in 1980. Carolyn Jacobs, Heller PhD’78, is again serving on the Elms College board of trustees, having previously served from 2009-18. She is dean emerita of Smith College’s School for Social Work.
