David Arkowitz, CFO at Flexion Therapeutics and board member of Spring Bank Pharmaceuticals, will serve on the board of directors of a newly merged company between Spring Bank and F-star Therapeutics. Jeffrey Heier, co-president, medical director, director of the vitreoretinal service and director of retina research at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, completed the first surgery using an investigational gene therapy produced by Gyroscope Therapeutics as part of the company’s Phase I/II FOCUS trial. Rabbi Steve Weisman and Loren Reisner Weisman celebrated the marriage of daughter Emily to Phil Mayer on July 12, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Emily is a fifth grade teacher in Bluffton. Loren writes, “Although it was not the wedding we originally planned, it was a beautiful day nonetheless.”
