In her blog, “Thoughts From Aisle Four,” Marlene Kern Fischer, P’18, P’23, chronicled her efforts to pull off the perfect COVID-compliant backyard wedding for her oldest son. Now those blog posts form the basis of her first book, “Gained a Daughter But Nearly Lost My Mind: How I Planned a Backyard Wedding During a Pandemic.” The book was edited by Marlene’s business partner Helene Hirsch Wingens, and one chapter features the gardening escapades of husband Mark Fischer ’83. Marlene reports she has been Zooming regularly with Helene, Amy Cohen, Alice Schwartz Horowitz, Carrie Kolinsky Gordon, Lisa Sachs Baum, Cheryl Schreiber Lewison, Roni Mayer Lachow and Shelly Lenkin Gordon. Barry Lieber is a Florida Bar board-certified immigration lawyer in Miami. He writes, “It has been a rough four years in immigration law, but things are looking up. I recently had a Zoom reunion with Robert Gladstein, Janet Lafler, Marc Sperber, Gail Gurman, Danielle Norman, Gideon Aronoff, Charles Tomberg, Chris Brody, Jill Mayzer, David Rohrl and Frances Short.” Regan Shulman has become executive vice president, general counsel, at Arch Insurance North America. She has been with the company since 2012.
