Invitation to a discussion of Race and Inequality in our Classrooms

April 17, 2015

Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to attend a meeting of the

Race and Inequalities Discussion Group
2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 (a Brandeis Friday) in Heller G2

This group, sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning, grew out of the January faculty meeting and a subsequent open conversation for faculty on February 12. This last meeting of the semester, co-sponsored by the Provost’s Steering Committee on Campus Diversity Issues, will focus on actions that faculty, departments, schools, and the University might take in the future. The session will also recap our previous conversations on building diversity, equity and inclusion perspectives and practices into the curriculum and classroom experience. Recent events related to race and inequality bring a new sense of urgency to this conversation.

Please RSVP here and submit your thoughts on this subject with the same form. Feel free to attend the meeting even if you do not RSVP. If you are unable to attend, the group welcomes your suggestions at the same link. The discussion group has been assembling resources and practices to share with colleagues, in case you are interested.

Sincerely,

Lisa M. Lynch
