Jeff Peters accepted a position as deputy general counsel at the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington, D.C. David Kates joined the law firm Chapman and Cutler as a partner. He specializes in public finance with an emphasis on health care. David lives in Northbrook, Ill., with his wife, Cheri ’93, and their three children, ages 14, 12 and 8. Rabbi Eve Rudin married Rabbi Elliott Kleinman on Jan. 12, 2014, at the Woodlands Community Temple in White Plains, N.Y. Eve is the director of the Congregational School at New York City’s Park Avenue Synagogue. Her father, James, is also a rabbi. Lisa Fiore was appointed to the school committee in Belmont, Mass. She is a professor of education at Lesley University. Developmental pediatrician Wendy Ross was named a CNN Hero for her work with families affected by autism. She founded Autism Inclusion Resources, which helps families who deal with autism navigate challenging social situations, such as airport travel, sporting events and museum visits. Jason Kurtz published a memoir, “Follow the Joy,” which chronicles his real-life adventure in India at age 27. Armed with a one-way ticket and no itinerary, he found himself teaching English to Tibetan monks, meditating for 10 days in total silence, and holding the hand of a dying man at Mother Teresa’s Kalighat Home for the Dying Destitutes. A psychoanalyst in private practice, he serves as director of training at the Training Institute for Mental Health in Manhattan. He is married to Dayna Steinfeld ’98 and is the proud father of a 4-year-old boy.
