Cholmondeley's Coffee House (Chum's)


Cholmondeley's (Chum's) is Brandeis' student run coffee house, tucked away in the historic Castle and named for a bloodhound belonging to the campus photographer. Throughout its history, it has played host to, among others, Tracy Chapman, the J. Geils Band, Joan Baez and the first American performance of Genesis.


Monday: Closed
Thursday: 7 p.m.–Midnight
Friday & Saturday: 8 p.m.–1:30 a.m.
Sunday: Closed

How do I Book Chum's? 

You can request the space for an event by filling out the following form:

There is a $50 booking fee for each event, and additional charges may apply if the events take place outside of regular operating hours. Clubs may not charge admission for events, but donations may be collected.

For student groups paying the Chum's fee, please email to create a journal entry. Include your student group name, event name, and event date.
