Boston-area English graduate student Symposium

The Boston-Area English Graduate Symposium took place at Boston University on September 21, 2019. Co-organized by English graduate students from Brandeis, Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, and Tufts, the event was designed to help students with professional development, as well as to give them a chance to get to know each other. We had two panels of speakers, one on alternate careers and one on academic publishing; the speakers’ talks were very engaging and were followed by lively question and answer sessions. We were also able to meet students from other schools throughout the day and had a great time swapping experiences. Co-organizing and participating in this event was a wonderful opportunity to become better acquainted with peers in other programs and with the wider world of the English student.
