Daughters in Danger, from the Hebrew Bible to Modern Midrash

Undergraduate Project / Graduate Student Project

Project Information

Rabbi Rachel Adelman, Hebrew College Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible and HBI Research Associate, is near completion of an ongoing book project that engages directly with feminist interpretations of the Hebrew Bible, classical midrash, and modern midrash as an interpretive lens with which to redeem these texts of terror. The book critiques androcentric bias in text, examines how gaps in the accounts are filled in by both classic and modern midrash, and highlights creative interpretations of the text.

Rabbi Adelman is seeking an intern to carry out online and library research in checking citations/quotes, and bibliographic information (50%). The intern will also read the text and assist with editing, indices, and obtaining permissions to publish contemporary creative work (50%).
