Kirkus gave the book a starred review and called it an “outstanding memoir.” Elsa Lichman writes, “During my stay-at-home time, I have been writing more and ‘getting myself out there.’” Elsa has a regular column in the Waltham News Tribune and a spiritual journal, and has published photos in several publications. One of her poems is part of a pandemic library project. Retired history professor Howard Rock reports he is living happily with his wife in the Carolina mountains. His book “Haven of Liberty: New York Jews in the New World, 1654-1865” was co-winner of the National Jewish Book Awards’ Jewish Book of the Year prize in 2012.
