Ellen Abraham, P’04, writes, “Enjoying living in Washington, D.C. After taking care of my mother for her last four and a half years, I figured 2020 would be my year to go dancing, go to the theater and visit people (haven’t: coronavirus). Would be glad to hear from Brandeis friends.” Linda Bodzin Coppleson writes, “It’s been a difficult, joyous and sad year, starting last September, when my husband of 44 years, Victor Coppleson, passed away. In November, I finished writing my fifth Torah and in December started the sixth. My son, Micah; his wife, Sari; and their two boys are coping with life during COVID-19 with humor and in valiant fashion. My daughter, Yael, and her husband, Richard Greenberg, welcomed their second son, Charlie Victor, on June 14, which would have been my husband’s 70th birthday.” Kenneth Browne’s new documentary, “Why Doctors Write: Finding Humanity in Medicine,” was slated to be the keynote event of the Medicine and the Muse Symposium at the Stanford University School of Medicine in April. When the Stanford campus closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, the event was held on May 28 as a virtual symposium. Ken’s 35-minute film explores the expanding movement to use writing, humanities and the arts to help medical clinicians and trainees deal with the challenges of health care. This fall, Ted Gup became the George R. Goethals Distinguished Visiting Professor of Leadership Studies at Williams College. Ted lives in Altamont, New York. Meyer Koplow, P’02, P’05, who is of counsel, litigation, at law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, was in June elected to the board of directors of the Metropolitan Opera Association. Meyer is chair of Brandeis’ Board of Trustees. John Reid, vice president of corporate social responsibility at the Coca-Cola Company, was elected GoATL impact investing committee chair on the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta board of directors. Jordan Tannenbaum is on the board of directors of the Rosenwald Initiative, an organization that seeks the establishment of a National Historical Park honoring Julius Rosenwald and the Rosenwald Schools. Jordan’s first grandchild, Olivia Paige Miller, was born on July 1, 2019.
