Bassist/composer Chuck Israels will have a memoir/cultural history published by Backbeat Books in the fall. He’s recently recorded duets for classical guitar and bass in the recital hall at the violin museum in Cremona, Italy, and taught master classes and held residencies at Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy, and the Paris and Berlin Conservatories. Psychiatrist/novelist Monica Starkman Schteingart, P’88, was interviewed by the American Psychiatric Association newspaper for an article titled “Psychiatrists Explore Their Inner Hemingway.” In March, The Jerusalem Post profiled Ellen Lapidus Stern, a painter whose work is displayed in the Jerusalem Municipality, the seat of Israeli municipal administration. Ellen lives in Jerusalem’s Har Homa neighborhood.
