David Freedman is vice president of the Critics Choice Association and supervising producer of the Critics Choice Awards. He’s planning to pursue a commercial pilot license/certificate. Lori Berman Gans, Heller MMHS’86, P’21, P’23, is a resource development professional at MIT. She is hoping for a great turnout at the Class of 1983’s 40th Reunion in October. She writes, “Campus is stunning in the fall — it’s a great time to come back.” Ari Jaffe, P’15, P’20, and wife Marlyn are the proud grandparents of four. Ari serves as of counsel at Kohrman Jackson & Krantz and is a board member at Brandeis Hillel. Janis and Jonathan Lightman celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in England, Portugal, and Israel. Janis practices optometry at Kaiser Permanente, and Jonathan runs What’s B-yond?, a consulting firm specializing in nonprofit advocacy and higher-education management. Son Ari (31) is a certified financial planner, and son Noah (28) manages CalKIDS, which provides college savings accounts for children. David Loeb is a member of the finance committee for the board of the Santa Fe (New Mexico) Farmers’ Market Institute. David founded Dirigo Consulting, which advises hotel and real estate businesses on strategy and capital markets execution. Matthew Nugent is dean of the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics at Towson University, in Maryland. Previously, Matthew was associate dean for research, innovation, and partnerships in the Kennedy College of Sciences, at UMass Lowell.
