Arjun Appadurai, wife Gabi, and 9-year-old son Kabir have lived in Berlin since 2016. A contemporary social-cultural anthropologist, Arjun has emeritus professor status at New York University and holds a visiting professorship at Humboldt University. He writes books and articles, and enjoys writing for a wider audience in such outlets as The Nation. He reports he stays in touch with a group of first-year friends from Brandeis. Ed David is vice president of the homeowners’ association of his 240-unit building in Jacksonville, Florida, and is also on the board of his 45-unit development in Maine. He and his wife recently enjoyed a monthlong New Zealand tour. They have two sons and four young grandsons, who live in New York and Washington state. Jan (Kruskall) Katz was ordained by Hebrew Union College in New York in 2021. She serves as a congregational rabbi in Laconia, New Hampshire. Menachem Malkosh and Judy Wolke Malkosh ’71, who have lived in Rehovot, Israel, for more than 50 years, are retired and enjoying their large family, including many grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Caroline Rains has worked as an assistant to Donald Giddon, GSAS PhD’61, G’24, emeritus professor of developmental biology at Harvard, for 36 years. Dena Rueb Romero’s book about her German family, titled “All for You: A World War II Family Memoir of Love, Separation, and Loss,” will be published in May by She Writes Press. Mark Schenker reports his hair is starting to turn gray; he is in semiretirement as a psychologist; and he remains musically active in Drive-Thru Groove, “one of the hottest bands in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.” Bruce Singal, P’06, was named to the 2022 Super Lawyers list for his work as a criminal defense lawyer at law firm Hinckley Allen in Boston.
