Kenneth Kapner has a personal injury law practice in the Philadelphia area. He’s a board-certified specialist in workers’ compensation, representing the injured worker, and chairs the workers’ compensation committee of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He’s also president of USA Track & Field’s Mid-Atlantic Association. In November, he ran his first marathon, qualifying for the Boston and New York City Marathons. “I stood at the Boston Marathon finish line as a volunteer three times while a Brandeis student,” he writes, “so I will enjoy a homecoming of sorts on Patriots Day 2024.” Ruth Landsman reports that members of the Class of ’81 enjoyed a mini-reunion in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has named Sally Radlo-Gaglini vice chair of the Clients’ Security Board. She has been a CSB member for three years, most recently serving as secretary. Sally is the founder of the Gaglini Law Group. Her practice is concentrated in probate; fiduciary and family law; and entertainment law, with an emphasis on young performers. In December, Drew Weissman, GSAS MA’81, P’15, H’23, was interviewed by CNN about his research that led to the creation of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. “We’re now turning to RNA for more than just vaccines,” Drew told the reporter, explaining that therapeutics for fighting HIV, influenza, and malaria are in the works, and RNA is also being used to treat cancer in clinical trials. In January, the National Inventors Hall of Fame announced Drew and research partner Katalin Karikó, H’23, are 2023 inductees for their mRNA discoveries.
