Former Wien Scholar Vincente Cayuela is a 2022 recipient of the Emerging Artist Award from the St. Botolph Club Foundation, established in 1967 to recognize and support artists working in or associated with New England. Vincente was recognized for his visual art. Gisel Ureña is pursuing a career as a software engineer at Liberty Mutual Insurance. She writes of her path to Brandeis: “Brandeis did not only see a hopeless and homeless girl; they saw the girl with a burning fire and a deep desire to get just one chance. The Myra Kraft Transitional Year Program opened the door that changed the legacy of my family and my life.”
