In December, Linda Alpert retired from her position as manager of the financial-crime process, control, and oversight unit in the Barclays compliance department. She says she’s looking forward to spending more time with family and friends, and losing the extra pounds she put on during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jeffrey Badler says he still loves overseeing his fine-jewelry business, Badler Jewelers, but he’s also enjoying teaching people how to play bridge. He writes, “During the pandemic, all classes moved online, where I am now ranked the No. 2 teacher in the country focusing on absolute beginners through advanced beginners.” Jeremy Silverfine joined a group of people that included three other alums — Janet Domenitz ’80, Arinn Polinsky ’19, and Nathnael Aschale ’22 — for a touch football game at Danehy Park, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Thanksgiving Day last year. Cathy Smith is chair of the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association, the first person of color to lead the group. She serves as general counsel of the Employees’ Retirement System of the Government of the Virgin Islands.
