Robert Glennon, GSAS MA’72, PhD’81, is Regents Professor and Morris K. Udall Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law. An expert on water policy and law, he is the author of “Unquenchable: America’s Water Crisis and What To Do About It” (Island Press, 2009). Deborah Lipstadt, GSAS MA’72, PhD’76, H’19, serves as the U.S. Department of State’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. In December, she attended a roundtable discussion on antisemitism convened at the White House by second gentleman Doug Emhoff. The following month, she and Emhoff visited Poland and Germany to gather information that will help with the design of a national action plan against antisemitism. Esther Lapian, GSAS MA’73, who has retired from Jerusalem’s Kerem Institute for Teacher Education, is teaching a course in midrash at the Machon Schechter adult-education English language program. Janet Neipris, GSAS MFA’75, is the author of many plays that have been produced at major theaters around the world, including “The Bridge at Belharbour,” “Natives,” and “Jeremy and the Thinking Machine.” She is working on a new book of essays, which includes a selection titled “The Moral Responsibility of the Artist.” For 35 years, Janet was the head of the writing departments at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. The latest book by James Cronin, GSAS PhD’77, “Fragile Victory: The Making and Unmaking of Liberal Order,” was published by Yale University Press in January. Susan Windham-Bannister, GSAS PhD’77, H’19, has been named to the strategic advisory board of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster initiative. Susan is managing partner of Biomedical Innovation Advisors, which she co-founded, and president and CEO of Biomedical Growth Strategies. Luis Rubio, GSAS MA’78, PhD’83, served as a jury member for the 2023 Lionel Gelber Prize, which recognizes the best nonfiction book on international affairs. Luis is chairman of the Center of Research for Development, an independent institution devoted to the study of economic and political policy issues.
