Sharon Hammer Rubin writes, “We bought a house in northern California in February 2022, and, when we moved the following September, the majority of our possessions (40 years of everything from our prior home) were destroyed after the moving truck caught fire during the cross-country drive. We’re still replacing a ton of stuff and filing insurance claims. Fortunately, some items precious to us did survive. We’re fine; we love our new home; and we’re now five minutes — versus 3,000 miles — from our daughter, son-in-law, and 4-year-old granddaughter.” Dan Klein writes that daughter Ariel and son-in-law Eric blessed him and wife Shelley with their third grandchild, Zephyr Jude, in January. Jane Goldman Ostrowsky and husband Mark, both P’06, P’13, recently enjoyed trips to Colorado; New Mexico; Punta Cana; Vermont; New York City; and Washington, D.C. They also treasure their weekly outings with grandchildren Colby (8) and Camden (1). The couple is looking forward to seeing classmates at Brandeis’ 75th-anniversary celebration in October. Tom Phillips composed the score for an ABC/Hulu film titled “Sound of the Police,” which explores the history of police treatment of African Americans. It will air this year. Kenny Raskin has released his second CD, “Peace of Mind,” and he and fellow guitarist RF Berks have formed a duo known as the Doppelgängers. They have performed in Minca, Colombia, and New York City. If you live in the Northeast and want the Doppelgängers to play a garden party or house party, feel free to reach out, Kenny says. Carl Sealove won a 2022 Emmy for his work as music editor on the Marvel series “Moon Knight,” which streams on Disney+. In addition to his music-editing work for film and TV, Carl has performed (primarily on electric bass) and recorded with a variety of artists, including Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Glen Campbell, and Johnny Cash. Carl lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Deborah. Steven Shedd was a chief financial officer for 27 years, the last 15 at a federal agency (“After 15 years in Washington, I always say I can work or get along with anyone,” he reports). Now he and wife Jayne are enjoying retirement in Naples, Florida. They have three children and three grandkids, ages 9, 10, and 19. Artist Sylvia Vigliani’s work was featured in the Spring issue of Vellum magazine. She also recently received a SU-CASA grant, sponsored by the Bronx Council on the Arts. Pamela (Sacks) Weil and Peter Weil announce the birth of their first grandchild, Goldie Eloise, born Aug. 28, 2022, to parents Melissa and Todd Seresky.
