Alumni Spotlight: Joshua R. Brown, MA’21

From 2021-22, Joshua worked for the Office of the Federal Public Defender's Capital Habeas Unit in Tampa, Florida. During his tenure in the federal court system, Joshua specialized in research and records management for Federal Habeas Corpus appeals on behalf of death-row inmates.

In 2022, Joshua was also recognized as a semifinalist for a Fulbright Graduate Degree Grant in philosophy to the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Since 2022, he has worked at a private criminal defense firm in Orlando, Florida, conducting research on state felony trials and juvenile cases.

In May 2023, he was hired as a visiting instructor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Rollins College. As a part of this appointment, Joshua was also named interim director of the Rollins College Debate & Ethics Bowl Team. The Rollins team is internationally recognized.
