Applying Electronically (preferred method)
A $75 application fee is required of all students who apply online. You will be prompted to pay via credit card immediately after submitting your application. Applications will not be reviewed by the graduate admission committee until your fee has been received and processed.
Applying via Hard-Copy/Paper Application
Please note that we strongly prefer applications to be submitted electronically. A $75 application fee is required of all students that apply via hard-copy or paper. Once the information from your paper application has been entered into the application system, you will receive an e-mail from our office prompting you to pay the application fee. Applications will not be reviewed by the graduate admission committee until your fee has been received and processed.
The following populations and/or affiliations are eligible for a fee waiver: U.S. Military; Fulbright Program/IIE/AmidEast scholars; Institute for the Recruitment of Teacher scholars; Ronald McNair scholars; Science without Borders scholars; Posse Foundation scholars; Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) scholars; DAAD Exchange scholars; AmeriCorps volunteers; Peace Corps volunteers; City Year volunteers; Teach for America volunteers; Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) members; Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) members; Boston Area Graduate Consortium students/alumni (Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University, Wellesley College), and employees, current students, and graduates of Brandeis University. All other applicants must submit an application fee.
If you feel your current circumstances warrant a fee waiver for your graduate school application, please send a paragraph explaining your extenuating circumstances to Amy Reardon, Assistant Director of Admission for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Please note that fee waivers are approved on a case-by-case basis and not all fee waiver requests will be granted. This process should be completed before you apply online, as applications submitted online without payment will be placed in a pending file until a payment is received or a fee waiver is granted.
