My jazz album “Straight Ahead” was ranked No. 81 in the Jazz- Week Top 100 albums for radio play last year. And my Concerto for Cello and Orchestra had its West Coast premiere this spring, performed by the Livermore- Amador Orchestra and featuring my son Evan, the principal cellist at Symphony Silicon Valley, as cello soloist.

Dana Schaul-Yoder welcomed her first grandson, Abraham, on Dec. 25. His mother is Dana’s daughter, Anneke. “Abraham is the first male born to my side of the family since 1890,” Dana writes. “Big sister Anna is 17 months old. Her only comment was ‘What’s that?’”
