Rob Baker is assistant cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 613 at Beth El Synagogue Center in New Rochelle, New York, the largest shomer Shabbat and kosher pack on the East Coast. Rob’s children, second-grader Aaron and first-grader Sophie, are pack members. David Freedman, who has retired from a career in TV production, is founder and head coach of a platform and springboard diving club, Hilo Hi-Diving. He’s in training to become a scuba dive master and will also teach a class in TV production principles at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Dan Kern, a member of the Brandeis International Business School board of overseers, is a board member and investment committee chair of the Cambridge (Massachusetts) Community Foundation. He and wife Darlene will celebrate two college graduations this year: son Matt’s from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and daughter Emma’s from Hofstra University. Iris Kliman Bloom Lavine has joined Raytheon as a principal quality engineer after nearly 20 years at Draper Laboratory. David Lewis is vice president at Manchester Trade, a trade policy and investment advisory firm, and an adjunct professor at the Florida International University College of Business, teaching international trade and business in its executive MBA programs. He is also working on private-sector post-hurricane recovery and reconstruction efforts in Puerto Rico, where he grew up. Cyndi Weinberger Schulman, P’10, P’13, is an educator in South Florida, where she lives with her husband, Ben. She has edited her first book, “Cloaked in Faith,” a memoir by Robert Lawrie. Gary Silverman joined White & Case, opening its Chicago office. He is a partner in the global law firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice.
