Career Guide
We know that for many Computer Science students, figuring out what to do once they graduate is a source of frustration and stress. It seems impossible to find an internship. You send out 30, 40, 50 resumes and hear nothing back.
There are so many resources available, so many Brandeis websites to look at, meetings to go to, email lists. It’s maddening and overwhelming. There is no magic formula, and everyone is different, and the job market ebbs and flows from time to time.
In order to help you get organized, here is our Career Guide Checklist:
The Checklist
- Have a good, up to date, resume
- Make sure that your LinkedIn and Handshake profiles are up to date
- Always be building your network of connections
- Look for ways to do a side project
- Practice interviewing
- Attend at least one career or networking event every week
- Try to be methodical about your job applications
