To be a General Board member there is no prior experience needed. This is a great way to gain valuable experience about the Campus Activities Board! Not only do General Board members provide input and suggestions on the various CAB events happening throughout the year, but they also host smaller scale events like BINGO, Scavenger Hunts, and Grab and Go events. The General Board plays a pivotal role in providing student insight about programming and bringing fresh ideas to the table.
To be a part of a CAB committee there is no prior experience needed. Committee members can be both on the General Board and participate in a committee as well. Committees members will attend weekly or biweekly meetings with their Executive Board Chair to plan events, creating marketing material, or assist in the organizations finances. Committees you can join include Major Events, Traditions, Live Events, and Concerts! For example, if you’re interested in being a part of planning major campus concerts, join the Concerts Committee.
The Executive Board encompasses a leadership board of eight paid elected students who are the leaders of event planning, budget finance, and marketing. Additionally, the E-Board works in tandem with the Department of Student Engagement as well as with their Committee members to coordinate events.
