Eric Chasalow, the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, wishes to announce a new staffing structure for the school, designed to better serve our community. This initiative has involved hiring new staff members and changing the reporting model of the office.

Peggy Higgins, the Associate Dean of Student, Academic, and Financial Services, is retiring from GSAS after twenty-five years at the school. “Peggy has been a lynchpin in our office for more than two decades,” says Chasalow. “It is not possible to simply replace someone who has impacted the school so deeply. Peggy has done more than anyone to professionalize our operation, hire talented staff members and implement a long-term development plan for the office. She has also been the most consistent and welcome contact for our students, staff, and faculty. She will be sorely missed.”

The new staffing structure will feature three Assistant Deans: Erin Bishop, PhD 14, who will lead Finance and Administration, Alyssa Canelli, PhD 16 (Emory), who will lead Academic Services and Jaclyn Farina, ’03, JD ’08 (Suffolk), who will lead Admissions. “Finance, Academic Services and Admissions are the core functions at GSAS,” says Higgins. “With my departure, we are very fortunate to have strong leaders in each area. I am sure they will be very successful in their roles.”
