Language and Culture Enrichment (LaCE) brings English Language Learner students from the local Waltham middle schools, Kennedy and McDevitt, to Brandeis from 3–5 p.m. on Thursday afternoons. Volunteers spend the first hour with the middle school students doing a fun and educational group activity and the second hour with their individual tutees doing homework.
Mission Statement
LaCE (Language and Cultural Enrichment) is an after-school mentoring and tutoring program that provides local middle school students who are enrolled in English Language Learner classes the opportunity to get homework help, practice their English in a safe environment, and form connections with Brandeis University undergraduate students. Our goal is to celebrate our unique cultures, appreciate different languages, and embrace individuality.
