2019 Fall for Fall Events

Fall into innovation this semester at Brandeis. This term, explore the many opportunities to grow your entrepreneurial and STEM skillsets at Brandeis and beyond. This week, enjoy the 4th Annual Startup Mixer, hosted by Brandeis Innovation, or head to Boston to check out FinTech Week, sponsored by Brandeis International Business School. In October, explore new startups born at Brandeis and meet the MakerLab during NewCo Boston. Land a job at an innovative tech company at the Hiatt Career Center's Technology & Innovation Career Fair. In November, make a difference through coding or designing at Codestellation, and celebrate Brandeis startups, scientists, and social innovators at the annual Showcase. It's going to be an exciting autumn for innovation here at Brandeis. We hope to see you at these upcoming events!

Startup Networking Mixer And Pitch Event

Are you a student, faculty member or staff at Brandeis and are you interested in innovation and entrepreneurship? Do you have an idea for an innovation, and want to get feedback or learn how you can take it to the next level?
Join us and learn about available programs and support, pitch your idea, begin to form or join a team, or just enjoy the refreshments and learn more about innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Hassenfeld Family Innovation Center together with the Office of Technology Licensing at Brandeis University is hosting an exciting event Thursday, September 12th from 6:00-8:00 as a kickoff to our SPARK/SPROUT and I-Corps  innovation funding and support programs, and the Lean LaunchPad business model training program. Students, faculty and staff interested in any aspect of startups are all invited.

WHAT: FinTech Week
WHERE: September 9-12

Brandeis International Business School is proud to sponsor and participate in Boston FinTech Week, taking place September 9-12. The series of events will focus on answering an important question: what does increased access in financial services look like? Join us to deep dive on the critical evolution underway in financial services and what it means to entrepreneurs, investors, institutions, and most importantly, the consumer.
Join Brandeis faculty as they share insights on the latest innovations in financial technology and their impacts on society.

What: Technology and Innovation Career Fair
When: October 3, 2019
Where: Hassenfeld Conference Center (Sherman Hall)

The Technology and Innovation Career Fair is the University's largest tech industry event of the year. This is an opportunity for students to meet leading employers such as Google, TIBCO, Kayak, IBM, Facebook, and many more that want to hire Brandeis students for full-time jobs and internships.

What: Brandeis to Host at NewCo Boston
When & Where: October 17, Brandeis University (location to be announced soon), 4:30-5:30pm

NewCo Boston is a region-wide open house showcasing the great things being done in innovation at companies, schools, and nonprofits around Boston. Participants can go from location to location, taking part in open houses at innovative organizations. This event, organized by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, is one of the largest open house programs of its kind nationally. Once again this year, Brandeis Innovation is participating, throwing open our doors to the community to share the best in Brandeis' innovation programs, Brandeis-born startups, and all that our campus has to offer in creative, high-tech ways to repair the world. Come see innovations that solve the world's challenges from a uniquely Brandesian perspective. Meet the MakerLab team and see the latest in 3D printing for social good. Connect with startups that started in the labs, classrooms, and dorms of Brandeis. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

WHAT: Codestellation 2019: The Friendly Hackathon
WHEN: Nov 9-10, 2019
WHERE: Brandeis University (details to be announced soon)

Codestellation is an annual hackathon held at Brandeis University and organized by BITMAP (Brandeis Initiative for Machines, Apps and Programming). At Codestellation, you’ll join a small launch team to create something awesome over the course of 24 hours. Along the way, we’ve also got a bunch of fun activities planned just in case you need a break from all the coding you’ll be doing. If a weekend of making new friends, coding, and partaking in all sorts of fun activities sounds like a blast to you, join us for Codestellation Fall 2019!

Brandeis Innovation Showcase
November 21, 2019

Discover the many innovative and entrepreneurial ways the Brandeis community is making an impact at the 3rd annual Innovation Showcase. This cocktail reception will feature startups, inventions, social entrepreneurship, and scientific discoveries born out of the labs and classrooms at Brandeis University.
Meet the team from Brandeis Innovation and learn about the many resources offered to campus innovators. Witness the application of emerging technologies across a wide range of subjects first-hand. Engage with the researchers, students, faculty and staff who are impacting the world of business, sciences, technology and the social sectors. You can also check out information tables from the MakerLab, other Brandeis departments and programs, plus Boston's leading innovation organizations.
Attendees will have the opportunity to join the entrepreneurial action and vote for the crowd favorite by “investing” in projects. Join us and experience the Brandeisian innovative spirit as you network with Boston’s innovation community, indulge in refreshments, and have the opportunity to win prizes.
