Women Social Impact Innovators in the News

Three Brandeis social impact innovators are making an impact in their respective business communities this Spring. Working at the intersections of business, technology, and social good, these three Brandeis women are driving change and helping fellow innovators succeed.
Prof. Carole Carlson, who leads the MBA program at the Heller School for Social Policy, has just published her textbook on how social impact entrepreneurs can create lasting and highly impactful ventures. Built on case studies of successful social enterprises, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Sage, February 2022) provides practical, cutting-edge guidance on the skills, tools, and strategies of building a social-impact company. Rich with templates, frameworks, and tools, this is a book that belongs on the shelf of anyone addressing the triple bottom line in 21st century business.
Bozhanka Vitanova, Brandeis International Business School '16 and Brandeis Innovation I-Corps instructor, will be showcasing her startup, TeamLift, at the GSV Summit in April. The startup, which aims to provide AI-driven skills validation, is one of the GSVCup Elite200 this year, an exclusive honor designating the company as one of the top 200 emerging educational technologies for 2022. The competition, sponsored by Google Cloud, HolonIQ, HubSpot and GSV Ventures, awards support to "the World's Most Innovative Edtech Startups."
Christina Inge, Brandeis Innovation Web Infrastructure Manager and Heller marketing instructor, has just published her textbook, Marketing Analytics: A Comprehensive Guide (Flatworld, January 2022). The textbook is the first of its kind, with a complete overview of the technologies, techniques, and strategies of using data to create more effective marketing and outreach. Covering social media, web design, advertising, and Big Data, the book provides an ethical framework for using data while respecting consumer privacy.
