Late spring brings a wealth of grants, accelerator program openings, and fellowship deadlines. We have selected some of the top funding opportunities of potential interest to you. Note that these programs are independent of Brandeis and that you will need to research them and contact the programs directly to learn more or apply - they are not administered by Brandeis.

We searched the web, heard from our partners, and researched some of the most relevant funding out there, and now we share it here with you for your information. Best of luck in your innovation journey!

.406 Ventures Fellowship
For: Undergraduate and graduate-student entrepreneurs
The .406 Ventures Student Fellowship is a two-year program for exceptional student entrepreneurs. Selected students are given access to mentorship from experienced venture capitalists, $20k+ in vendor credits, and a dedicated network of founders. Former fellows have gone on to IPOs, acquisitions, and top companies such as Google and Amazon. Please note that this fellowship is only for students who have already started a company or plan to within the next two years; students with a primary interest in Venture Capital should look elsewhere. Visible Hands Fellowship
For: Under-represented early-stage tech founders
Due: May 7, 2021
Through a virtual-first fellowship program, Visible Hands provides company-building services and investments of up to $200k to underrepresented talent. The fellowship is open to all whose gender and/or racial identity is underrepresented in tech. This includes - but isn't limited to - women, non-binary and trans people, and Black, Latinx, and Indigenous American people. Applicants must be ready to launch a high-growth technology startup and be early along in company-building: ideation, looking for co-founders or working on an early prototype.
Parallel 18 Fellowship
For: Under-represented startup founders, especially B2B
Due: May 10, 2021
Parallel18 is a top-level, performance-driven international startup program with a social mission: offer entrepreneurs from all over the world access to high-quality business training, funding, and networks to help them scale globally while working to position Puerto Rico as a unique hub for innovative businesses and technology. Open to applicants around the world.

Techstars Sustainability Accelerator in Partnership with The Nature Conservancy
For: Sustainability startups
Due: May 12, 2021
This is a very unique accelerator, partnering with the world’s largest environmental nonprofit The Nature Conservancy, on a mission to supercharge early-stage startups who are protecting the planet, conserving our natural resources, and creating a world where humans and nature can both thrive. This program focuses on Pre-Seed to Series A tech companies in the following areas: 
  • natural-based solutions to climate change
  • providing sustainable food and water
  • protecting land and water
Participating companies receive up to $120K in funding, personalized mentorship from Techstars and The Nature Conservancy, and much more.

Venture Cafe SEED Program
For: Retail industry startups and founders
Due: May 31, 2021
Venture Café’s SEED is a unique industry immersion program designed for entrepreneurs innovating in the retail industry. This 10-week program is powered by Retail Business Services, the services company of Ahold Delhaize USA, which supports top grocery store brands like Stop & Shop, Giant Food, Food Lion, and others. Over the course of the program, you will be able to improve your business skills, raise your retail industry IQ, and build critical relationships in the ecosystem.

US Dept of Health and Human Services ENACT Funding 
For: University researchers in a range of disciplines, including data science, epidemiology, biochemistry, and more
Due: Rolling
Rapid diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases are critical to both the patient and the broader community. ENACT (Early Notification to Act, Control, and Treat) partners with innovators to develop disruptive technologies that detect, prognosticate outcomes, and enable early intervention following exposures to both natural and man-made infectious threats. Michaelson Prize in Biomedical Research
For: Early career biomedical researchers
Due: June 18, 2021
Early career independent investigators, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows (including residents and interns), and other researchers currently in training positions are eligible for these awards. Applicants must be 35 or younger at the time of pre-application submission. Eligible applicants must be employed by, or affiliated with, an eligible organization. Examples of eligible organizations include academia, biotechnology companies, foundations, government and non-governmental organizations, and research institutes.
