Welcome back! As the school year begins, we are hitting the ground running to implement new and exciting programming around innovation for the Brandeis community. Are you interested in changing the world through innovation? Are you a student, faculty member or staff at Brandeis and are you interested in innovation and entrepreneurship? Do you have an idea for an innovation, and want to get feedback, or learn how you can take it to the next level?
Join us and learn about available programs and support, pitch your idea, begin to form or join a team, or just enjoy the refreshments and learn more about innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Hassenfeld Family Innovation Center together with the Office of Technology Licensing at Brandeis University is hosting an exciting event Thursday, September 13th from 6:00-8:00 as a kickoff to our SPARK/SPROUT and I-Corps ™ innovation funding and support programs, and the Lean LaunchPad business model training program. Students, faculty and staff interested in applying for SPARK, SPROUT and/or creating startups are all invited.

I-Corps Fellowship Applications Available
Deadline: September 16
Applications are now open for our Fall 2018 I-Corps ™ Fellowship. I-Corps Fellows receive entrepreneurship training, a $750 stipend, and, upon successful completion, are eligible for further National Science Foundation funding.

SPARK Pre-Applications Available
Deadline: September 23
SPARK offers aspiring change-makers at Brandeis the support they need to turn their vision into reality. Through SPARK, Brandeis innovators will work on exploring the viability of their research and ideas while building the basis of what can come to be game-changing solutions.
Apply to SPARK by September 23 and be eligible for mentorship from tech industry leaders, innovation training, and the chance at funding.

Discover the many innovative and entrepreneurial ways the Brandeis community is making an impact at the 4th annual Innovation Showcase. This cocktail reception will feature startups, inventions, social entrepreneurship, and scientific discoveries born out of the dorms, labs and classrooms at Brandeis University.
Meet our MakerLab and witness the application of emerging technologies across a wide range of subjects first-hand. Engage with the researchers, students, faculty and staff who are impacting the world in the business, sciences, technology and social sectors.
Attendees will have the opportunity to join the entrepreneurial action and vote for the crowd favorite by “investing” in projects. Join us on November 16th and experience the Brandeisian innovative spirit as you network with Boston’s innovation community, indulge in refreshments, and have the opportunity to win prizes.

MakerLab Upcoming Events
Ever wanted to learn how to do 3D printing, laser cutting, or other fabrication? The Brandeis MakerLab has a range of programs to learn to be a maker, whatever your current skill level! In addition, they are participating in some great maker community events, and invite the Brandeis community to join as well. - 9/15 - Newton Free Library STEAM expo http://newtonfreelibrary.net/ - The MakerLab will be showcasing VR, 3DP, and robotics projects - please join us! This event is the equivalent of Newton's local MakerFaire - just 10 minutes from campus!
- 9/22 and 9/23- World MakerFaire NYC: https://makerfaire.com/new-york/ - By far the largest event of the fall season for the east coast Maker community - Brandeis MakerLab will have a booth set up - if you would like to participate in the event and see over 100,000 makers in just 2 days, contact us!
- 10/6 and 10/7- MakerFaire Boston: https://boston.makerfaire.com/ - Boston's first full scale MakerFaire is happening this year at the Museum of Science. Brandeis MakerLab will have a table and demo projects set up - please reach out and come table with us if you are interested. We can provide free tickets for volunteers!
- There will also be regular TinyWhoop Drone Races starting up at the Charles River Museum of Industry this fall. This amazing industrial revolution museum is located just a 5 minute drive from campus! https://www.charlesrivermuseum.org/

Computer Science Job & Internship Fair

The Brandeis Computer Science Fair is the University's largest tech industry event of the year. This is an opportunity for students to meet leading employers that want to hire Brandeis students for full-time jobs and internships
