Voice-over: "Hello everyone! My name is Zeziah Corbett, and I'm the World Language and Cultures Fellow for the 2021 school year.
Background about me: I will be a sophomore in the fall studying Health Science, Society and Policy, and I'm originally from Atlanta, Georgia. Language has always been super important to me, and I really do it as a bridge that verbally connects the worlds of many different people, and as your Fellow for the 22-21 school year, I really want to focus on encapsulating the Brandeis language learning experience from the student perspective. In doing so, I will implement a new initiative on our Instagram page called the Language Takeover where I will feature many students from our 13 languages at Brandeis and have them share what a day in the life looks like of a language learner at Brandeis and doing so, I hope to shed light about the variants and experiences of language learners and how our language learners plan to execute and use their language learning skills in the real world.
Additionally, I will feature some study abroad students who have used their language outside of the Brandeis community and have them share along some pictures and videos and experiences they've had abroad about how their studying and the skills that they picked up about language at Brandeis and how they plan to implement that in the world going forward. I'm so excited to be able to meet each and every one of the members on the world languages committee and work diligently with you guys throughout the school year.
Thank You! See you soon!”
