Provost Funding for Innovations in Teaching and Research

Provost Research Awards support early stage innovative scholarly inquiry and creative activities that have the potential for significant, sustained impact. Awards are administered through the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. Requests for proposals are announced each spring for the upcoming fiscal year, and recipients share their projects at the "Celebration of Scholarly Inquiry" event.
Current and past recipients: 2017, 2016, 2015

Provost Teaching Innovation Grants promote excellence in teaching through the development of innovative instructional methods, new methods of assessing learning or the redesign or courses using technology. Grants are administered through the Center for Teaching and Learning. The request for proposals is announced each spring for the upcoming fiscal year and recipients share their work at the "Teaching Innovation Showcase."
Current and past recipients are listed on the CTL website.

Other Teaching and Research Funding for Faculty and Staff

The SPROUT Program (for bench research) and SPARK Program (for non-bench research) are seed funding opportunities designed to "step-up" selected Brandeis technology and make it more attractive for licensing and commercial development.

Affordable and Open Educational Resources Grants are for faculty who are interested in incorporating open educational resources into their courses. These grants will also allow faculty to engage with librarians, instructional designers, and Faculty Fellows from the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Information Literacy Grants support faculty who are interested in working with librarians in designing courses which increase student information literacy. Faculty and librarians work together to develop coursework in which students have the opportunity to think critically about how to find, evaluate, and apply information sources.

Experiential Learning and Teaching Grants support the four teaching principles (Authenticity, Relevancy, Connection to Future Opportunities, Active Learning) and the three student goals (Agency, Belonging and Competency) of Experiential Learning and Teaching at Brandeis.
