Summer of Opportunity Continues:
Check Out the Next Sessions

An interactive summer speaker series to inspire you to transform your side hustles, hobbies, and interests into a business.

What do Venmo, WhatsApp, Groupon, and Airbnb have in common? They were all inspired by the problems highlighted by the 2008 economic recession.
How can you proactively respond to the problems highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic? This is your opportunity to use your skillset to meaningfully solve these problems.
Only you know what you are capable of. We are here to help you identify a viable business idea and bring that to life. In each speaker session, you will have the opportunity to present your idea and receive feedback from startup experts.
Speakers will share their expertise from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday June 23. There will be a virtual networking event on June 30th.

From the Blog: SARS-CoV-2 Testing: Demystifying the Terminology

Media extensively covers issues like the spread and impacts of COVID-19. Less often covered is how exactly some of the science behind the pandemic works. Understanding the fundamentals of testing methods is helpful in understanding conversations about testing and responses to COVID-19. Rajnish Kaushik, a trained virologist, and Professor Emeritus Lawrence Wangh, a world-renowned expert on polymerase chain reaction (PCR), sat down with us to describe the science behind testing methods.
Knowing the meaning of many of the scientific terms we see in the media can help us to better understand coverage. In this week’s blog, we talked with our own scientists to find out what many of the words the public is learning for the first time really mean.
