Student Job Opportunity:
Become a Startup Champion
We have a unique opportunity for an enterprising person to be a startup champion!
We have a wonderful job opportunity for students again this year: The Startup Champion works on enabling the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem within their school and linking students and faculty from their school with the wider Brandeis ecosystem. The position is open for three students (undergraduate and graduate student). Selected students will have the opportunity to work with diverse teams building startups and technology with a biotech, machine learning, linguistics, environment, social impact, or finance focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be point of contact for Lean Startup initiatives within your school
- Lead startup ideation workshops within your school
- Reach out to students, professors, staff members and involve them in innovation activities
- Organize events associated with innovation programs on campus
- Work with startup teams and proactively support their development, record their needs, and ensure they have adequate support and assistance
The Details:
The position starts on October 1 st and ends April 30 th . Champions are expected to work 5-8 hours per week. $12/hour.

Two Brandeis teams Debut in the MassChallenge showcase
Two Brandeis startups were recently selected to participate in one of the most prestigious startup accelerators in the world, Masschallenge. The Masschallenge program hosted its annual Showcase event on July 16 at the organization’s dynamic headquarters in Boston’s Seaport District.

When he first came up with the idea of creating a better way to find sustainable, healthy food, Galen Karlan-Mason had no intention of becoming a social entrepreneur. He had just earned his Bachelor’s at Brandeis and was completing his Master’s at Brandeis International Business School. He did, however, intend to transform his interest in sustainability into a career. Where he imagined that career was in real estate, an industry undergoing a green transformation in response to climate change and other global challenges.
